Our History
Louisville Insurance was formed in 2011 as a result of the merger of Louisville Insurance Network, LLC and Pike Insurance Agency, LLC. The agency traces it’s founding to 1998, when Tom Finnegan formed Louisville Insurance Network. Eric Liedtke, the current owner of Louisville Insurance Network, purchased Tom’s interest upon his retirement in 2012.
In 2012, Louisville Insurance completed the acquisition of Roth Wall & Webb, a locally based insurance agency established in 1975. Travis Brown, former principal with RWW, became equity partner.
In January 2013, David Dunn, CIC formed the Dunn Agency, Inc. and merged that entity under the Louisville Insurance, LLC umbrella. David’s practice includes expertise in high-value homeowners and property insurance, including commercial buildings, apartment and condominium associations.
Effective February 2, 2014, Louisville Insurance acquired the Ken Smith Insurance Agency, further strengthening our relationship with Progressive Insurance.
On March 31,2014, we acquired the Glauber & Shelton Insurance Agency in Carrollton KY, an independent agency with a rich history dating back to 1983. The Carrollton office has since been renamed to The Insurance Offices of Carroll County.
Also, effective March 31, 2014, the Hickey Insurance Agency, Louisville KY was acquired. Mr. Hickey’s primary market was Metropolitan Property and Casualty, a nationally recognized preferred insurance carrier.
2015 started off with the acquisition of The Insurance Office of Oldham County. Established by Tony Ruble over 20 years prior, Tony remains on staff as Producer.
Louisville Insurance’s next acquisition was the Hayden Insurance Agency, located in Carrollton KY., the acquisition was completed on March 15, 2015. Hayden’s office and operations were merged into our existing office, Insurance Offices of Carroll County. This merger solidifies our presence in the Carroll county and surrounding territory as the preeminent independent agency in the area.
Perhaps the most significant event to date for Louisville Insurance, was the addition of nine producers and three account managers joining the organization June 1, 2017. The addition of these twelve very accomplished professionals has strengthened our relationship with our insurance carriers, but more importantly, our clients. Subsequently, we proudly announce the construction of our new office building completed in December 2017.
On August 30, 2019, Louisville Insurance completed the acquisition of the Aron Seligman Agency LaGrange Ky. Aron’s client base, primarily centered in neighboring Oldham County, will be serviced by the support staff in the Louisville office, led by Kelly Embry.
On January 26, 2021, upon the retirement of agency principal Charlie Horton, we acquired the Conley Insurance Agency, incorporated in Louisville in 1969. And on May 11th of this year, agent Jim Grant joined Louisville Insurance , with the acquisition of his book of business and clients from the long established Jim Grant Agency.
